Monroe’s outstanding WR and future Maryland Terrapin Shaleak Knotts finishes his career 2nd All-Time in Union Co. history with 42 career receiving TDs. The Union Co. record for receiving TDs in a career is held by Sun Valley great Jeremiah Miller who caught 51 TDs from 2013-2016. Knotts has a total of 46 career TDs scored and ranks 14th in Union Co. history. Forest Hills legend Juanne Blount has the record of 88 TDs scored in a career.

Backey finishes the sesason with 75 receptions!

Weddington’s Landyn Backey finished the 2021 season with a school record 75 receptions in a season. Backey entered the 4th round playoff game vs. Chambers with 72 receptions Backey broke the former record of 70 receptions in season by Zach Goins who set the Warrior record in 2014. Backey finishes the season tied with Sun Valley’s Jody Fuller for 7th best in Union Co. history for receptions in a season. The Union Co. record for receptions in a season is 104 catches set by Cuthbertson’s JT Cauthen set in 2014. Congrats Landyn!!

Robinson ties Union Co. record with 7 touchdown passes!

Monroe's junior QB Khamoni Robinson throws 7 TDs in the 60-29 route of JM Robinson in the 2nd round of the state 2A playoffs. Robinson ties the Union Co. record of 7 TDs passing in a game held by Marvin Ridge QB Austin Colonna. Robinson's 7 TDs are a Monroe HS record previously held by QB's Matt Bennett, Zephania Wall & Justin Sanders, who threw 5 TDs in a game. Robinson joins an elite group of historic Union Co. quarterbacks with 6 or more passing TDs including Cuthbertson's Austin Kendall & Parker Burke, Sun Valley's Sam Howell and Weddington's Jeff Buseick and Whitner Litton. Marvin Ridge's Raykovicz enters Union Co. record book

Marvin Ridge's Luke Raykovicz enterd the Union Co. record book after putting up 204 yards receiving in the 23-18 loss to Weddington. Raykovicz had 5 receptions for the 204 yards and 2 TDs. Luke's 204 receiving yards ranks him 19th all-time in Union Co. history. The Marvin Ridge record for receiving yards in a game is held by Devin Powell with 237 yafds set in 2016 vs. Concord. The Union Co. record for receiving yards in a game is 288 yards by Piedmont's Dan Brooks in 2002 vs. Ashbrook. Congrats Luke!

Marvin Ridge's Jake Young headed to Elon

Marvin Ridge's Jake Young will continue his education and footbal career at Division 1 Elon in the fall of 2022. Young made his announcemnt via twiter, "I am extremely excited and proud to announce that I am committing to Elon University to continue my academic and athletic career...." Young, a 6'4 220lbs tight-end/defensive end was named All-UCHSF 1st Team and All-SCC after recording 17 catches for 130 yards and 2 TDs along with 7 tackles on defense in a covid short 2020 season. Congrats Jake!.

Myles Carroll (PR)


Porter Ridge's Carroll will play at the next level

Porter Ridge's Myles Carroll will play college football at Washington and Lee University. Carroll annoucned his commitment via his twitter account, "Thank you to all of my amazing family and coaches for shaping me into the person and player I am today. Because of their influence I am blessed and extremely excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at Washington and Lee University!!" Carroll is a 2-year starter and was named 2nd Team All-UCHSF as a junior(COVID short season) while passin for 708 yards and 6 TDs and added 254 rushing yards and 6 TDs. Through 5 games this season Carroll has thrown for 645 yards and 6 TDs. Congrats Myles!.

Isaiah Mobley (PW)


Mobley sets Wolf Pack record and enters the Union Co. record book

Parkwood Wolf Packs outstanding receiver junior Isaiah Mobley entered the Union Co. record book after putting up 208 receiving yards in teh 39-29 win over Forest Hills. Mobley had 7 receptions for the 208 yards and 1 TD and ties him for 16th all-time with Marvin Ridge's Ian Hutter. Mobley's 208 receiving yards are a Parkwood school record as well. The previous Wolfpack record was held by Isaiah's brother Sam Mobley with 194 receiving yards. The Union Co. record for receiving yards in a game is 288 yards by Piedmont's Dan Brooks in 2002 vs. Ashbrook. Congrats Isaiah!.
